Ana Lains werd geboren in Portugal in 1979 en begon te zingen op jonge leeftijd. Ze bracht haar jeugd door in een klein dorpje en verhuisde op haar 18de naar Lissabon, haar muzikale dromen volgend.

 

In het begin van haar carrière engageerde ze zich in verschillende projecten, van jazz tot bossa nova. Deze diversiteit hielp haar te evolueren als zangeres, haar weg te zoeken, haar eigen stijl te ontwikkelen. In 1999 begon haar werk vruchten af te werpen - ze won als nieuwkomer de competitie van de Great Night of Fado, een zeer prestigieuze prijs in Portugal. In 2000 begon ze op haar 22ste te toeren doorheen Frankrijk, de Verenigde Staten, Luxemburg, België en Duitsland. Ze was reeds te horen op de compilaties Songs about Lisbon en Divas de Fado Novo.

 

Ana stond met Sentidos, het live concert, op de planken in Griekenland, Portugal, Spanje en Rusland.
